About Dina El Wedidi
Since she burst onto the scene with her powerful voice and inventive but rooted style, Dina El Wedidi has become a well-loved name in Egyptian contemporary music, driven by a curiosity and a propensity to shed her skin and venture down new paths.
In 2012, she was selected by Gilberto Gil and the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative as a protégé. Most recently, Manam is an experimental electronic album, produced from layers of processed train sounds, over which she sings. The result is a 30-minute voyage, a short nap crossing seven stations, in which Dina tells hallucinatory stories.
About Maryam Saleh
Egyptian singer and songwriter Maryam Saleh composes and performs Egyptian music with Arabic language and influences of Trip Hop and Psych Rock. In the past year few years, Maryam has played widely across Egypt, the Arab World, and Europe, after releasing her debut album Mesh Baghanny (eka3 2012), after which she joined forced with Lebanese electro-pop pioneer Zeid Hamdan in releasing Halawella (Mostakell 2015).
About Nouran Abu Taleb
Nouran started with the German University in Cairo (GUC) music ensemble before developing her own identity blending Arabic, jazz, and classical music. The young talent performs a mixture of Arabic jazz and pop songs from different eras. Nouran’s cover of “Zay El Hawwa” is delicately intimate, her hypnotic voice giving it a touch of magic.
