Many believe in 7 as a lucky number, but for our community of creators, #8YearsofGrEEK brought with it our best year yet. Join us on a trip down memory lane as we celebrate our greatest achievements of 2021. ✨🔮

It feels so good to be reunited! As 2021 rolls in, the GEEKs return to the campus to work together collaboratively, reconnect with teammates and meet new peers for the first time. Despite the challenges of last year, the GrEEK community is growing faster than ever before. Today, The GrEEK Campus plays a central role in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, bringing together 1,600+ entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, incubators, corporations, government and service providers under one roof. Our portfolio of members includes the highest funded tech startups in Egypt, national and regional impact investors, among the highest circulating publications in the ecosystem, public and private business incubators and educational and training projects and many more.

Collaboration for innovation: large corporations and startup communities merge on campus.

The GrEEK Campus is spearheading first-of-its-kind corporate collaborative events and programs to enable community-based innovation initiatives and to avail scaling support services for entrepreneurs and startups across industries. Under The GrEEK Learn, we’ve launched 11 expert-led capacity-building programs this year supporting entrepreneurs to develop skills in a broad range of areas from government relations and tax regulations to accounting and financial control to mental resilience and people management. Among others, the HMS App Developer workshop powered by Huawei Mobile Services Egypt introduced participants to the fundamentals of application development through a hands-on demo project focusing on integrating HMS kits.

Connecting our circle to the wider industry.

Our biggest event season ever takes place over the summer with a back-to-back lineup of industry-shaping summits, career fairs and pitch competitions. Throughout the months of May to August, among others, The GrEEK Campus hosts: U For Urban Impact, Tatweer Misr Innovation Competition, Mint Your Mental Health, Shaghalni Employment Forum, Build Your Future Summit, Egypt Career Summit and The DMZ Cairo Launch.

Following our mission to sustain and forward local heritage culture, The GrEEK Beats is launched as an initiative by The GrEEK Campus utilizing our physical and virtual spaces to amplify the voices of creative professionals and cultural practitioners. The initiative kicked off in September with an intimate indie gathering at the Library Rooftop featuring up-and-coming talents: Do3souqa, Dokkan and UGi. Following this, our authentic events lineup have attracted thousands of visitors to our campus and platformed dozens of multi-genre artists, including: Amer El Tony, Wael ElFashny, Al Hadraa, Dina El Wedidi, Nouran AbuTaleb, Maryam Saleh, El Far3i, Amr Eid and Youssra El Hawary.

Happy Birthday GrEEK! The GrEEK Campus turns 8 and we get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate twin birthdays with ♚ HRH Prince Charles during a historic royal visit to our downtown campus. Led by The GrEEK Campus Chairman and Founder, Mr. Ahmed El Alfi, the Prince toured the downtown campus for his Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI), where he met the incubated startups of StartEgypt and took part in a round table discussion with Egypt's Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad along with corporate and institutional sustainability and climate leaders.

The GrEEK Campus West expands in its first operating year to meet the needs of our flourishing community.

Just a couple of short months following its opening, our new home in West Cairo is already connecting entrepreneurial communities nationwide as The Techne Drifts 2021 Finale is held at The GrEEK Campus West in April. With startups drawn in from all corners, the campus has undergone its first expansion to accommodate more members with 1,500 square meters of extra space. Additionally, a 2,000 square meter communal courtyard equipped with high speed internet, comfortable seating arrangements and a stage is estimated to be ready early next year for use as a space to relax, enjoy a lunch break or hold informal meetings.
